Pond Unit Fun!

This Pond unit has turned C into quite the fisherman!  He counts his lures and then sits "waiting for a fish to bite" and "watching out for crocodiles!"  It's too cute!

Our Pond Sensory tub:
We read "Frog Hunt" and it explained (at the back) that Daddy fish will clear an area of the pond for the Mommy fish to lay their eggs in....that is what C explained to me that he was doing.  Love it when they bring books to life like that!!  =)

H always wants the "pond" blue gems and Z usually want the animals.
They've all enjoyed scooping into their favorite color bucket that I got from the Target $1 aisle!

We decorated fish cut outs with sparkle glue.

Pattern block fish
She's holding her speckled frog wand...each of the kiddo colored their own &
used them to act out "Five Green and Speckled Frogs."

Write and Wipe F is for fish and frog...with a fish puzzle.
All of them love doing these!

Sequencing caterpillars and butterflies (not necessarily pond-ish, but ce la vie)

Pond preschool pack write and wipes (laminated)
Caleb and Hope can complete the rhyming sheet without help now!
Z got a little help from Mama on one D and then worked on her own.

H traced Pond...1st time for her!  She did great!

He traced the 1st letters & then decided to trace the rest of the words too...my little overachiever!  Haha!

Marshmallow fish on PB sandwiches...just for fun & yumminess!

Bought these on the clearance aisle at W-M for $2 months ago....love it when that happens!
Butterfly and Frog Lifecycle puzzles

PondLife unit - the kiddos enjoyed coloring the strips b/c it was different from a full sheet...the simplest things can keep the engaged!

Painting the Pond...I love E's grip on the paint brush!

Pond collages (idea credit)

AND, as a finale to the unit, we now have new pet fish!  YAY!
The kiddos are so excited and very proud owners of their very own fish!
